Monstrosity still and always will be a part of society. People are greedy and selfish. Everyone has something that makes them greedy and selfish depending on the person and how far they can go until they snap. People in today's world are always dealing with their 'inner monsters'. We all think that more is “better” when that really isn't the case. Sometimes the best things in life aren’t things. Our society has commercialized a lot of products to make us understand that having things is better then not having them. People think that everything now is a right and a need, not a privilege. The need for money also plays a role in why people let out their inner monsters. The world is all about money. When a person has a lot of money it makes them feel superior, like they own the world instead of living in it. No one is better than another person because of what they own, it’s how they act.
It’s a ‘want want’ world. Greed and jealously can lead people to steal or pine for products. Consumerism thrives on the greed that people have, what they want, what is better, what they see in the media or what they see other people have. This can lead people to commit suicide, go into debt, and rob a bank. There is no way to control our inner monster, but we can control the extremity of it.
